Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Engineer specializing in Information Security to join our IT architecture team at our headquarters in Vancouver, BC. This role is integral to enhancing our cybersecurity measures and involves collaboration with various resources to assess, plan, design, and monitor cybersecurity protocols and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Information Security Management System (ISMS).
- Monitor critical systems (EDR, IPS, SIEM, Firewalls, etc.) to identify and address anomalies.
- Stay informed on external vendor and industry developments to inform internal risk mitigation strategies.
- Investigate and resolve reported anomalies in accordance with corporate standards.
- Conduct regular activities such as dormant account reviews, phishing simulations, and vulnerability assessments, ensuring appropriate follow-up actions are taken.
- Collaborate with IT and third-party system administrators to implement risk-appropriate measures as per corporate policies.
- Perform risk and privacy assessments on internal and external information systems as needed.
- Ensure compliance with federal and corporate standards, procedures, and guidelines.
- Participate in audits related to cybersecurity and compliance.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
A degree or diploma in cybersecurity or a related field, combined with substantial experience in the cybersecurity sector, focusing on the design, implementation, and maintenance of cybersecurity solutions across various IT and operational technology platforms.
The ideal candidate will excel in managing multiple projects and tasks while maintaining a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
Additional Requirements:
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proven analytical and investigative abilities.
- Awareness of emerging security trends, threats, and best practices.
- Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, COBIT, ISO 27002, and ITIL.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members to achieve optimal results.
- Hands-on experience in implementing and maintaining security systems.
- A valid Canadian driving license may be required for travel between sites.

- Next Generation Firewalls, SIEM, IPS, EDR, and MFA technologies.

- Managing physical data centers and device configurations.
