Job Overview:

The Logistics and Supply Chain Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in the strategic oversight of the organization's supply chain and logistics functions, encompassing procurement and sourcing activities. This position entails managing comprehensive supply chain processes, including planning, sourcing, and distribution, to guarantee efficient and uninterrupted operations. The Logistics and Supply Chain Operations Manager will collaborate with multiple departments to synchronize supply chain initiatives with corporate objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the organization's supply chain strategy to improve productivity, efficiency, and cost management.
  2. Logistics Oversight: Supervise logistics activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services.
  3. Procurement Management: Direct procurement and sourcing efforts, including vendor selection, contract negotiations, and order processing.
  4. Inventory Control: Ensure accurate inventory tracking and management, maintaining optimal stock levels.
  5. Supplier Relations: Engage and negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and foster strong partnerships.
  6. Warehouse Operations: Ensure the warehouse is well-organized and operates at peak efficiency.
  7. Data Evaluation: Analyze data from shipping, procurement, and delivery to identify inefficiencies and areas for enhancement.
  8. Performance Metrics: Assess and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and evaluate supply chain effectiveness.
  9. Staff Development: Train and mentor team members on supply chain best practices and processes.
  10. Cost Efficiency: Identify and implement strategies to optimize costs in supply chain and procurement operations.
  11. Problem Resolution: Address issues that arise, such as delays in delivery, accidents, and supply chain disruptions.
  12. Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work with other departments to develop coordinated strategies for business growth and development. Support scheduling decisions to enhance efficiencies and optimize resources, reducing inventory levels and balancing processing costs.
  13. Compliance and Safety: Establish and enforce safety protocols, ensuring all supply chain activities comply with legal standards and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related discipline is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field, focusing on procurement and sourcing.

  3. Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
  4. Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools.
  5. Comprehensive understanding of supply chain processes, safety regulations, and legal standards (Canada and US).

  3. Order fulfillment accuracy.
  4. Supply chain costs as a percentage of revenue.
  5. Supplier lead times and reliability metrics.
  6. Incidences of production delays linked to supply chain issues.

Work Environment:

  1. Office Environment: Primarily office-based with occasional visits to warehouses, production sites, and supplier locations.
  2. Travel Requirements: Some travel may be necessary for supplier engagements, trade exhibitions, and visits to external warehouses and third-party logistics providers.

Physical Demands:

  1. Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working on a computer.
  2. Occasional lifting and handling of materials weighing up to 35 pounds.
  3. Frequent walking, standing, and handling of materials in warehouse and production settings.
