Position Overview

The Logistics and Supply Chain Director is tasked with the comprehensive oversight of the organization's supply chain and logistics functions, focusing on procurement and purchasing strategies. This role encompasses the management of all supply chain processes, from planning and procurement to transportation, ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness. The Logistics and Supply Chain Director will collaborate with multiple departments to synchronize supply chain initiatives with the company's strategic objectives.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the supply chain strategy to improve productivity, efficiency, and cost management.
  2. Logistics Oversight: Supervise logistics activities to guarantee timely and efficient delivery of goods and services.
  3. Procurement Management: Direct procurement and purchasing functions, including supplier evaluation, contract negotiations, and order management.
  4. Inventory Control: Ensure precise inventory management and record-keeping to maintain optimal stock levels.
  5. Supplier Relations: Engage with suppliers and vendors to negotiate favorable terms and foster strong partnerships.
  6. Warehouse Operations: Maintain an organized and efficient warehouse environment.
  7. Data Evaluation: Analyze shipping, procurement, and delivery data to identify inefficiencies and areas for enhancement.
  8. KPI Assessment: Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate supply chain effectiveness.
  9. Team Development: Mentor and train team members on supply chain best practices and processes.
  10. Cost Management: Identify and implement cost-saving measures within supply chain and procurement activities.
  11. Problem Resolution: Address and resolve issues such as delivery delays and supply interruptions.
  12. Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work with other departments to formulate coordinated plans that support business growth and development.
  13. Compliance and Safety: Establish and enforce safety protocols, ensuring all supply chain operations comply with legal standards.

Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years in supply chain management, logistics, or a similar role, with a strong emphasis on procurement and purchasing.

  3. Order fulfillment accuracy.
  4. Supply chain costs as a percentage of sales.
  5. Supplier reliability and lead times.
  6. Production delays attributed to supply chain challenges.

Work Environment

  1. Office-based with occasional visits to warehouses and supplier locations.
  2. Some travel may be necessary for supplier engagements and industry events.

Physical Requirements

  1. Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
  2. Occasional lifting of materials up to 35 pounds.
  3. Frequent walking and handling of materials in warehouse settings.
