You may also possess the following competencies:

  • Prior internship or co-op experience in your field of study.
  • Proficiency in the design, analysis, and validation of Structures, Systems, and Components.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering, nuclear engineering, and design evaluation processes.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and construction methodologies.
  • Capability to assist in design and construction review meetings.
  • Understanding of CSA N285.0, CSA B51, CSA N299/Z299, ASME BPVC standards.
  • Acquaintance with CSA S16, CSA N289, National Building Code of Canada, ASME B30.20.
  • Experience with engineering software tools such as ANSYS, AutoPIPE, AutoCAD, Solid Works, and MicroShield.
  • Ability to prepare and critically review various engineering calculations and reports.
  • Actively engage in resolving technical challenges identified by project management or client requests to enhance business opportunities for Framatome Canada Ltd.
  • Collaborate effectively with senior engineers and other disciplines.
  • Adapt quickly to changing demands.
  • Execute tasks adhering to high safety and quality standards.

Your Role

This position is centered on making a significant impact on the future of clean energy. You will utilize your expertise to be part of an innovative team, contributing to our clients' success. As a Junior Nuclear Systems Engineer, you will join a proven team within the Installed Base Business Unit. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting standard engineering tasks primarily in design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, specification preparation, field task execution, and problem resolution.
  • Performing field visits to support engineering project development.
  • Collaborating with clients to ensure that identified solutions meet their needs.
  • Delivering engineering outputs to support plant operations throughout their lifecycle, including design, construction, testing, commissioning, and maintenance.

This role may involve travel up to 25%. Together, we will facilitate clean, safe, and cost-effective low-carbon energy solutions to meet global sustainability goals.
