About the Role

Framatome is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Canadian team in the Installed Base Business Unit. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting Canadian nuclear reactors in producing electricity that is both reliable and environmentally friendly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under direct supervision, you will perform standard engineering work requiring application of established techniques and procedures to carry out tasks in support of Nuclear Facilities.
  • You will be responsible for planning, conducting, and completing tasks or portions of a larger project under the direction of more experienced staff.
  • You will provide technical support related to planning, designing, analyzing, constructing, and maintaining structures, systems, and components.
  • You will provide engineering advice as needed.
  • You will perform standard engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks, and resolution of field problems.
  • You will ensure compliance with government, organization, and customer engineering standards.
  • You will independently evaluate, select, and apply standard technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
  • You will work on special projects as directed.
  • You will perform other related duties and tasks as required.
  • You will utilize existing and/or acquired technical expertise to find improved technical solutions to support the product life cycle/replacement of current Framatome technologies.
  • You will actively participate in solving technical issues identified by project management, business line management, or by customer request with the objective to increase business opportunities for Framatome Canada Ltd.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an engineering role.
  • Registered as an Engineer in Training (EIT) with the PEO.
  • Nuclear Site Access Security Clearance.
  • Experience with 3D Modeling & Engineering Analysis Software (e.g. ANSYS, SolidWorks, Autopipe, PIPESTRESS, CAESAR II).
  • Engineering Codes and Standards (i.e. ASME B31.1, ASME BPVC).
  • Hands-on engineering experience.
  • Python Programming knowledge is a benefit.
  • Experience with Customer Relations or Customer service.
