About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Hyklen Services. As a Grounds Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our grounds maintenance team, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire, Train, and Supervise Staff: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of grounds maintenance staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Worksite Environment: Ensure that all worksites are safe and well-maintained, with a focus on outdoor, hot, and cold/refrigerated environments.
  • Task Management: Schedule and manage the workload of the grounds maintenance team, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to the required standard.
  • Grounds Maintenance Planning: Plan and direct the grounds maintenance activities, including the maintenance of lawns, gardens, and other outdoor areas.
  • Landscape Construction Management: Plan, manage, and supervise landscape construction work, including the installation of new landscaping features and the maintenance of existing ones.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of work completed, including logs and reports.
  • Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to ensure that all work is completed according to plan.
  • Material Requisition: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed to ensure that the grounds maintenance team has the necessary resources to complete their tasks.
  • Problem Solving: Resolve work problems and provide technical advice to improve productivity and product quality.
Supervision
  • Team Size: Supervise a team of 3-4 people, with the potential to expand to 5-10 people.
Security and Safety
  • Driver's License: Ensure that all team members have a valid driver's license and are able to operate company vehicles safely.
Transportation/Travel Information
  • Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required for this role.
  • Company Vehicle: A company vehicle will be provided for work-related travel.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Work Environment: The work environment is fast-paced and physically demanding, requiring a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Attention to Detail: The ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail is essential for this role.
