About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Worker - Building and Grounds to join our team at Southfort Inn. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our building and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Building Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the building remains in good condition, including emptying trash cans and other waste containers, contacting contractors for repairs, and performing minor repairs on appliances.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Maintain the appearance of the grounds, including watering and tending to plants, lawns, and gardens, as well as cleaning snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
  • Safety and Security: Perform regular safety and security checks to ensure the building and grounds are secure and free from hazards.
  • Physical Demands: The role requires a high level of physical fitness, with tasks involving lifting, carrying, and moving heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: Experience is an asset, but not required
  • Language: English
  • Work Hours: 35 hours per week
