Job Title: Court Administration Clerk

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong organizational and communication skills. As a Court Administration Clerk, you will provide administrative support to the court, ensuring the smooth operation of court proceedings and the delivery of high-quality services to the public.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer incoming charges and ensure strict adherence to statutory time limits.
  • Review and enter information into the database, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Accept and review applications, forms, and trial requests, verifying accuracy and adherence to legislative requirements.
  • Commission court affidavits and schedule appointments, ensuring all documentation is present and available.
  • Prepare documentation for enforcement agencies and schedule follow-up court appearances.
  • Prepare Fail to Respond dockets and review and administer as per guidelines and regulations.
  • Accept payments, calculate fees, and perform general cashier duties.
  • Provide administrative and support services to the team lead and management.
  • Provide assistance to the public through multiple channels, responding to inquiries and investigating issues.
  • Maintain and update various systems, manuals, and records.
Requirements:
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in an office environment, including demonstrated legal or court experience using the Integrated Court Offences Network (ICON) database.
  • Satisfactory Police Criminal Background Check.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Standards, Acts, and Regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability in the Region's core competencies.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures, including records management systems.
  • Intermediate skills in virtual platforms and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to provide customer service to various internal and external court users.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to assess priorities and work independently to meet deadlines.
