Thomson Rogers is a leading law firm in Canada, with a strong presence in personal injury litigation. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Assistant to join our thriving Personal Injury Litigation team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage files with accurate and up-to-date information
  • Communicate effectively with lawyers, staff, clients, and healthcare professionals
  • Schedule appointments, mediations, discoveries, pre-trials, trials, motions, and zoom meetings
  • Complete dictations in a timely manner
  • Compile court documents, including memos and pre-trial memos
  • Draft, prepare, and revise routine correspondence and documents
  • Assist in preparing briefs and records for mediations, trials, hearings, and motions
  • Monitor deadlines, diarize reminders, and assist lawyers in preparing timely responses
  • Fax, mail, scan, photocopy, and save documents electronically to the document management system
  • Closing files
  • Additional administrative duties as required

Requirements

  • A minimum of seven years of personal injury litigation experience
  • Team player attitude with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with hyperlinking and bookmarking
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work in a fast-paced environment, and take initiative
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, Kofax PDF, iManage, Zoom, and Soluno is considered an asset
