Key Responsibilities:
As the Assistant Manager, you will support the Liquor Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring a high standard of service and product quality. Your leadership will foster a positive and motivated team environment. The ideal candidate will excel in relationship-building with customers and staff, showcasing skills in organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving.

  • Assist in managing daily store operations in line with company standards and expectations.
  • Provide guidance and support to cultivate a motivated and engaged team.
  • Oversee inventory management, ensuring cleanliness and organization of the stockroom.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to support store operations.
  • Help create and manage weekly staff schedules to meet operational needs while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Review and approve payroll records as needed.
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
  • Conduct periodic inventory checks and manage discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with merchandising and program standards.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and uphold sanitation standards.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns professionally.
  • Promote Occupational Health and Safety practices within the store.
  • Embody the corporate values of Integrity, Community, and Excellence in all interactions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Importance of the Role:

Ideal Candidate Profile:
You are passionate about customer service and possess:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in retail guest service, preferably in the liquor sector.
  • Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • A valid Serving it Right Certificate; WSET certification is a plus.
  • Strong enthusiasm for the liquor industry and commitment to enhancing the customer experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong organizational skills.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to interpret financial reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective planning and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • A commitment to building positive relationships within the team and with customers.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Willingness to travel to other locations as needed.
