We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at Dallas Watt Demo Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, preparing estimates for general expenses and overheads, and creating and submitting estimate reports, quote sheets, and bids forms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Estimating: Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs, and prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads.
  • Reporting: Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bids forms.
  • Communication: Liaise, consult, and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Analysis: Analyze tenders and recommend awards.
  • Monitoring: Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems, and monitor and adjust contract expenditures.
  • Supply Management: Prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Experience an asset.
  • Work Setting: Estimating.
  • Tasks: Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs, prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads, create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bids forms, advise on tendering procedures, analyze tenders and recommend awards, set up cost monitoring and reporting systems, monitor and adjust contract expenditures, prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors, liaise, consult, and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Willing to travel.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, tight deadlines, attention to detail, combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods.
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, flexibility, organized, team player, proactive.
