Position Overview:

McIntosh Perry is in search of a skilled Transportation Project Manager to enhance our Transportation Team in Alberta. This position offers a remarkable chance for a seasoned professional to spearhead transportation infrastructure initiatives, encompassing preliminary engineering, detailed design, tender preparation, construction services, and post-construction activities, particularly in collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation and Economic Corridors and local municipalities.

Qualifications:

  1. Post-secondary education in civil engineering (Degree, technical diploma, or equivalent).
  2. A minimum of 7 years of experience in transportation and infrastructure projects.
  3. Proven track record in coordinating and managing project teams on transportation initiatives.
  4. Experience in managing and mentoring project personnel.
  5. Strong understanding of QA/QC/QM as well as OH&S practices and requirements.
  6. Demonstrated familiarity with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors design guidelines and construction specifications.
  7. Possession of a valid driver's license and willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the execution of Transportation & Infrastructure projects for Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors, municipalities, and other clients throughout the province, from design to construction.
  2. Prepare proposals, tender documents, project cost estimates, and monitor budgets while forecasting expenses.
  3. Ensure adherence to deadlines for project deliverables.
  4. Coordinate, organize, and manage the activities of project staff through all phases, including preliminary engineering, detailed design, contract preparation, construction, and post-construction.
  5. Provide expertise in construction and contract administration, offering leadership and mentorship to staff.
  6. Coordinate project requirements with environmental, geotechnical, utility relocation, and land acquisition disciplines and sub-consultants as necessary.
  7. Act as a liaison with clients, stakeholders, and the project team.
  8. Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all safety codes, guidelines, and regulations that form our Health, Safety & Environmental management system.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned or required.
