Job Purpose:

The Head of Procurement Operations will take charge of leading procurement initiatives, ensuring that business objectives are not only met but exceeded in terms of service scope, quality benchmarks, risk management, delivery timelines, and cost efficiency. The role involves contributing to the formulation and execution of strategic procurement and robust sourcing strategies, alongside effective supplier management processes that align with business objectives.

Summary of Responsibilities:
  • Oversee sourcing, negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management;
  • Coordinate the efforts of procurement personnel, including buyers and sales-related staff;
  • Establish and implement departmental objectives that align with business goals, fostering collaboration among key stakeholders;
  • Supervise team members, managing daily operations, recruitment, training, and development to ensure high service standards;
  • Lead the creation and execution of sourcing strategies to meet projected budgets;
  • Evaluate current and future procurement needs, analyze market trends, and identify areas for continuous improvement;
  • Develop long-term supply chain and pricing strategies;
  • Initiate cost-reduction strategies and implement control measures to manage price variances;
  • Generate savings through strategic sourcing while meeting user requirements;
  • Provide insights for the development of processes that support the vision for Procurement and strategic Supply Chain;
  • Manage the requests for proposals (RFPs);
  • Negotiate vendor agreements for volume rebates;
  • Ensure efficient handling of all Customs-related matters;
  • Act as the primary escalation point for procurement-related issues.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
  • Degree or certification in supply chain management, operations management, business administration, or a related field is preferred;
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in procurement and strategic sourcing, including business strategy development;
  • Experience in MRO purchasing is advantageous;
  • Background in aerospace, airline operations, or corporate aviation, with knowledge of modern aircraft;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with diverse audiences;
  • Proficient negotiation skills;
  • Sound decision-making abilities;
  • Proven capacity to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Inventory, and ERP systems.
