Position Overview:
The Head of IT Procurement, Asset Management, and Quality Assurance Applications will oversee the daily operations of the relevant systems and processes, manage the deployment of new applications, and support cross-functional initiatives that affect these areas. This role collaborates closely with the VP of Applications, ensuring thorough evaluation of solutions, contributing to system selection business cases, and managing everyday support for business challenges, change requests, and team oversight across both SAP and non-SAP platforms. Key systems include S/4 (MM, SRM, PM, MRS, QM) and LabVantage LIMS.

A Glimpse into Daily Responsibilities:
IS Procurement, Asset Management, and Quality Assurance
  • Serve as an IS partner to the business, leveraging extensive SAP functional expertise and best practice knowledge.
  • Gather business requirements and evaluate software against these needs.
  • Estimate effort and timelines for inclusion in Business Cases and Capital Requests.
  • Collaborate with other directors to design and implement effective solutions within budget and time constraints.
  • Engage in Master Data Governance activities.
Regular Cycles
  • Monitor project expenditures against budget and contribute to IS monthly forecasting.
  • Provide insights for Sponsor and Steering committee presentations as necessary.
  • Deliver timely updates during Project Team Meetings.
  • Conduct individual reviews with team members and lead team discussions.
  • Contribute to cross-functional IS Director Meetings.
  • Participate in weekly Project Management Office and Transport Release meetings.
Annual Financial Planning
  • Collaborate with business partners to prioritize application projects for the upcoming year.
  • Provide cost estimates for individual IS projects to support the overall IS Budget.
Team Development
  • Oversee the productivity of a team of six direct reports.
  • Manage annual merit increases for the team.
  • Facilitate action plans based on team surveys.
  • Support the personal and professional growth of team members.
  • Lead succession planning efforts within the team.
POSITION OUTCOMES:
  • Deliver effective solutions aligned with IS and business priorities.
  • Lead a team with clear objectives and a balanced workload.
  • Manage releases and transports to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Achieve positive team survey results reflecting effective management practices and employee engagement.
  • Provide thought leadership in the field by participating in conferences and networking.
  • Strengthen the IS Procurement, Asset Management, and Quality Assurance team.
Qualifications:
  • Extensive SAP experience with 12-15 years in large-scale project implementations ranging from $3-7M.
  • Proven leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across various functions.
  • Willingness to take calculated risks and advocate for ideas.
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP modules MM, SRM, PM, MRS, QM in S/4 or ECC and Ariba.
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems like LabVantage is advantageous.
  • Experience with mobile and analytical solutions, such as Microsoft PowerBI.
  • Strong business insight and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proven track record in talent evaluation and development.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Outstanding organizational leadership, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • High intellect with adaptability to changing circumstances while maintaining focus on responsibilities and organizational objectives.
