Job Overview

Position Summary

The role involves overseeing the daily operations of recreational facilities and ensuring the delivery of inclusive programs. You will play a crucial part in creating a welcoming environment that caters to diverse community needs, including those of individuals facing barriers to accessing recreational activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver client-centered care to participants based on tailored program plans.
  • Support the implementation of community recreation initiatives across various locations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance service delivery and participant engagement.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a college diploma in a relevant field or equivalent experience working with individuals with acquired brain injuries or special needs. A minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in client care and special needs support is required.

Certifications

Applicants must hold current certifications in Standard First Aid, CPR, and/or AED, along with training in Crisis Prevention and Intervention, and AODA Customer Service.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Understanding of legislation protecting the rights of individuals with special needs.
  • Familiarity with health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of community resources and recreational programming.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

Additional Information

Language requirements may vary, with some positions necessitating proficiency in English, French, or bilingual capabilities. A Vulnerable Sector Check will be required for successful candidates.
