About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Home Building Contractor to join our team at NBS Steel Framing & Drywall Ltd. as a key member of our construction team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, organization, and execution of home building projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and quality of work.
  • Site Supervision: Inspect subcontractors' work to ensure quality and conformity with plans and specifications, and make necessary adjustments to ensure project success.
  • Budget Management: Plan and manage budgets for projects, including estimating costs, tracking expenses, and ensuring profitability.
  • Trade Work: Perform various trade work during home construction or renovation activities, including carpentry, drywall installation, and other related tasks.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure project success.
  • Business Development: Develop and implement business plans, financial and operating plans, and prepare estimates and bids for home construction, renovation, and restoration projects.
  • Customer Relations: Work with customers, architects, and engineers to ensure that plans and specifications are met, and that customer needs are satisfied.
  • Supply Chain Management: Prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors, ensuring that necessary materials and services are available when needed.
  • Permitting: Ensure that construction permits are obtained and that all necessary regulatory requirements are met.
  • Operations Management: Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in home building or a related field.
  • Permanent employment.
  • English language proficiency.
  • 40 hours per week work schedule.
