About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Home Building Contractor to join our team at NBS Steel Framing & Drywall Ltd. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction process, ensuring quality and conformity to plans and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Manage Subcontractors: Conduct regular site visits to inspect the work of subcontractors and ensure it meets our quality standards.
  • Plan and Manage Budgets: Develop and manage budgets for construction projects, ensuring timely completion and within budget.
  • Perform Trade Work: Perform various trade work during home construction or renovation activities, including carpentry, drywall installation, and finishing work.
  • Recruit and Supervise Staff: Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers to support the construction process.
  • Develop Business Plans: Develop and implement business plans to drive growth and profitability.
  • Prepare Estimates and Bids: Prepare estimates and bids for home construction, renovation, and restoration projects.
  • Collaborate with Customers and Stakeholders: Work closely with customers, architects, and engineers to ensure plans and specifications are met.
  • Manage Supplies and Contractors: Maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors, ensuring timely delivery and quality work.
  • Obtain Permits and Licenses: Ensure that construction permits are obtained and licenses are up to date.
  • Manage Daily Operations: Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations to ensure efficient and effective construction processes.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English language proficiency required.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
