At Canadian Blood Services, we are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist (Donor Care Associate) to join our dynamic Calgary Donor Centre team. As a key member of our laboratory and phlebotomy team, you will play a vital role in supporting the collection of donor blood in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct registration and confidential screening to determine donor eligibility and provide a positive donor experience.
- Monitor donors for safety and comfort, provide post-donation care, and respect donor privacy.
- Ensure safe processing and handling of blood products, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues to collect whole blood and apheresis blood components, which save lives daily.
- Assist in setting up booths, tables, and equipment for mobile events within our communities.
Requirements:
- Completion of high school and an accredited training program in phlebotomy or one year of related experience.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and programs.
- A second language is considered an asset to support a positive donor experience.
