Position: Analyst, SPV Operations

Brookfield Corporation (NYSE/TSX: BN) is dedicated to strategically deploying its capital with a focus on long-term value creation. Our investments are centered around three primary areas: asset management, insurance solutions, and operational enterprises.

Role Summary:

The Analyst, SPV Operations will play a pivotal role within Brookfield Reinsurance's expanding team, reporting directly to the Manager of SPV Operations. This position involves significant collaboration with the Vice-President of Investment Operations and other investment team members, directly supporting the growth of BNRE's investment portfolio. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and administration for Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs).
  • Perform cash and position reconciliations, ensuring consistency between internal records and those of external administrators.
  • Assist in trade settlement and lifecycle management across diverse asset classes.
  • Review and analyze waterfall calculations, engaging with administrators for thorough assessments.
  • Manage treasury functions, including liquidity and cash management, wire transfers, and callbacks.
  • Collaborate with external service providers to facilitate comprehensive Loan Administration processes.
  • Work alongside the investment accounting team during the month-end closing cycle.
  • Support the onboarding and Know Your Customer (KYC) processes with borrowers and trading counterparties.
  • Conduct reviews of legal documentation, including credit agreements and other financial contracts.
  • Communicate effectively with various teams, including investment, legal, and accounting.
  • Partner with technology services to enhance integration and processes, actively participating in system implementation projects for continuous improvement.
  • Develop dashboards and regular reports for senior management, portfolio managers, and risk and legal functions, addressing investment compliance, risk, performance, and other ad-hoc requirements.
  • Engage in system implementation and process enhancement initiatives as necessary.
  • Undertake various special projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience; CPA/CFA/CAIA designation is preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field is required.
  • Experience in the insurance sector and familiarity with insurance regulations is advantageous.
  • Understanding of trade lifecycle processes within Investment Operations/Middle Office, particularly concerning alternative asset classes, private investments, and fixed income.
  • Proficient in various settlement and reconciliation methodologies.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other office applications (e.g., Power BI, VBA); familiarity with additional technical software is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy.
  • Self-driven and proactive, capable of working independently.
  • Team-oriented with a focus on collective success.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet both internal and external deadlines.
  • High standards of professional ethics and integrity.
