About This Opportunity
We are seeking dedicated Emergency Medicine physicians to provide shift coverage in community hospitals across the Western Zone. This position presents an excellent opportunity for both family medicine and emergency medicine practitioners to become integral members of the medical teams serving various communities.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will engage in a comprehensive scope of practice as an emergency physician, delivering quality care to patients within the designated zone. The physician will report to the Zone Department Head for Emergency Medicine, ensuring adherence to professional responsibilities and maintaining high standards of practice in accordance with the Medical Staff Bylaws.
Expected Hours

Qualifications
- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS) is required.
- Family physicians must hold membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
- Specialists should be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) is necessary.
- Current PALS Certification is mandatory.
- Current ATLS Certification is required.
- ACLS Certification is preferred.
