Construction Project Coordinator - 12 Month Contract

Position Overview

This role is a 12-month contractual position with the potential for extension. The Project Coordinator plays a vital role in facilitating Dealer mobility by ensuring the prompt and cost-effective resolution of construction deficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recognize the significance of exceptional customer service.
  • Assist in the Dealer transition process by interpreting policies to ensure compliance with both corporate and Dealer responsibilities.
  • Effectively negotiate resolutions to potentially contentious construction-related issues while prioritizing the Corporation's interests.
  • Collect, assess, and validate vendor proposals for repair projects, preparing comprehensive summaries for cost tracking and Dealer communication.
  • Manage Dealer leasehold approval requests, providing necessary documentation and tracking all requests through their complete lifecycle, including updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all changeover and leasehold documentation is accurate and properly filed.
  • Foster effective relationships, both internally and externally, to ensure timely project execution.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant field such as building science or technology is preferred.
  • Experience in construction, facilities maintenance, or building asset management within a retail or commercial context.
  • Familiarity with municipal planning processes.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and execution skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong personal organization.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Experience in property management, asset management, or project management is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution and negotiation skills are beneficial.
  • Experience in commercial real estate, particularly within large retail or construction firms, is a plus.
