Experienced Urban Planning Project Leader

WSP is seeking a qualified Senior Planner/Project Manager to enhance our Urban and Community Planning division.

In this role, you will report to the Planning Manager and be tasked with overseeing a variety of municipal planning policies and land development initiatives.

Your engagement will span a broad spectrum of projects in a dynamic, fast-paced, and multi-disciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to strengthen our local practice in Atlantic Canada.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to intermediate and junior professionals.
  • Collaborate with specialists from various WSP business lines to deliver comprehensive planning services.
  • Prepare policy and zoning assessments for municipal and development stakeholders.
  • Draft municipal planning documents, including municipal plans, zoning/land use by-laws, and secondary plans.
  • Conduct research and present detailed planning analyses.
  • Secure planning and development approvals.
  • Fulfill project management duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree in Planning.
  • Ability to support and expand our Atlantic Canadian team through ongoing business development.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is a valuable asset.
  • Proven project management skills, including leading multi-disciplinary teams.
  • A highly motivated, organized, and flexible team player dedicated to delivering exceptional service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with effective time management abilities.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Bilingualism is an advantage.
