We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Indigenous relations and community development efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy to foster strong relationships with Indigenous communities, businesses, and organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Indigenous Relations Strategy: Create and execute a strategic plan to build and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, businesses, and organizations, aligned with Innivec's mission and values.
  • Lead Indigenous Partnerships: Serve as the primary point of contact for Indigenous partners, cultivating strong relationships and ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Integrate Indigenous Perspectives: Collaborate with internal teams to incorporate Indigenous perspectives and priorities into Innivec's business practices, products, and services.
  • Provide Guidance and Support: Offer guidance and support to Innivec staff on engaging with Indigenous partners in a culturally sensitive and respectful manner.
  • Advocate for Indigenous Rights: Advocate for Indigenous rights and interests within Innivec and the broader business community, including participation in relevant forums and initiatives.
  • Plan and Execute Events: Oversee the planning and execution of Indigenous-focused events, workshops, and initiatives to promote economic development and empowerment.
  • Evaluate and Improve: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Indigenous relations initiatives, tracking key performance metrics and outcomes.
  • Stay Informed and Provide Strategic Recommendations: Stay informed about Indigenous issues, trends, and best practices, and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Business, Indigenous Studies, or a related field (Indigenous Studies as an asset).
  • Indigenous Background: Indigenous background with a deep understanding of Indigenous cultures, values, and traditions.
  • Leadership Experience: Previous experience in a leadership role focused on Indigenous relations or community development.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic Thinking and Problem-Solving: Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of driving positive outcomes in Indigenous relations.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Cultural sensitivity and a commitment to promoting Indigenous rights and interests.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Ability to lead and inspire a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
