About the Role

The Senior Associate Director, Market Trading, Corporate Sales will be responsible for managing a portfolio of corporate and institutional clients in the Montreal market. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial risk management and be able to develop, maintain, and deepen relationships with clients to identify opportunities for risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a sales strategy to distribute a range of derivatives products to new and existing clients.
  • Participate in the development of new risk management solutions and work with the sales team to bring them to market.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients through a deep understanding of their business models and identifying opportunities for risk management.
  • Provide innovative ideas, market insights, and competitive pricing to clients in a consultative sales approach.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, including interest rate risk management, market trading, corporate sales, and other partners within the Global Banking and Markets division.
  • Cultivate new client relationships through close collaboration with internal partners, including Investment Banking and other product groups.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the regulatory environment in the banking sector.
  • Make parallel sales of Scotia's corporate banking products to deepen existing relationships and develop new ones.
  • Protect the Bank from loss and/or unnecessary risk by strictly adhering to laws, policies, and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • MBA and/or CFA designation (or in progress), an asset.
  • At least three to five years of experience with derivatives and other financial instruments.
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and availability to travel within Canada.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic environment with rapid activity.
  • Excellent business development and marketing skills. Experience in sales in the financial services industry, an asset.
  • Deep understanding of hedging strategies, including experience in structuring non-linear solutions.
  • Experience with currency and interest rate trading systems, including Bloomberg, 360T, Markitwire, Wallstreet, and Murex.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, in French and English. Ability to articulate complex concepts to groups.
  • Strong team player; ability to collaborate with internal teams to achieve sales and growth objectives.
  • Good knowledge of financial software, and practical expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of hedging accounting, an asset.

Work Arrangement

It is expected that the incumbent will work at least four days a week in the office. Please note that this may change based on business needs.
