About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation and Control Systems Engineer to join our team at BWX Technologies. As a key member of our Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions group, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex control systems for our nuclear fuel and fuel channel components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Prepare detailed designs, specifications, and technical documents for control systems, including electrical assembly drawings, single line diagrams, and equipment specifications.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Liaise with cross-functional teams, including design, operations, and maintenance, to gather site-specific design information and ensure effective communication of technical data to internal and external customers.
  • Testing and Commissioning: Execute walk-downs of equipment, prepare and present technical data, and ensure designs comply with applicable company, technical, and regulatory standards.
  • Project Management: Participate in design reviews, customer review meetings, and project planning to ensure timely and budget-friendly project execution.
  • Technical Expertise: Develop and maintain expertise in industrial automation technologies, low-voltage power distribution, control circuits, and other relevant areas.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical/Instrumentation & Control/Automation or related discipline Engineering.
  • Experience: Typically requires 3 years' experience in design engineering in nuclear, aerospace, transportation, oil and gas, mining, or other highly regulated and process-based design.
  • Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, analytical abilities, and creative problem-solving skills.
