About the Role

Brunel is seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for supporting the technical direction of our projects and providing technical expertise to internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including electrical assembly drawings, single line diagrams, and equipment specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather site-specific design information and execute walk downs of equipment in the plant.
  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers, ensuring designs comply with applicable codes and standards.
  • Participate in design reviews and customer review meetings, providing stakeholder and design input.
  • Test and commission complex equipment and systems, and review selection of components and equipment.
  • Adhere to project commitments and customer success criteria, and support the development and estimating of engineering proposals.
  • Ensure designs are done for manufacturability and comply with requirements.
  • Support process change through process enhancement and technology introduction to achieve world-class product development and deployment.
  • Interact with external customers, subcontractors, and cross-functional internal teams to support customer relationships and ensure market alignment.
  • May support proposal development and review, including scope review, estimating, and technical presentations to the customer.
  • Identify project risks, analyze solutions, and take decisive action to resolve issues and communicate these to the leadership team.
  • Provide assurance of health and safety associated with the execution of all projects and activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical/Instrumentation & Control/Automation or related discipline Engineering.
  • Current Professional Engineer (PEO) license.
  • Typically requires 3 years' experience in design engineering in Nuclear, Aerospace, Transportation, Oil and Gas, Mining, or other highly regulated and process-based design.
  • Demonstrated ability to support leadership on engineering projects over their complete EPC life cycles with little support.
  • Exposure to a range of interdisciplinary activities, including systems design, requirements development, interface design, and testing.
  • Experience working with and writing design documentation, including assembly drawings, elementary/schematic drawings, connection wiring diagrams, component specifications, design requirements, commissioning requirements, and test procedures.
  • Exposure to a broad range of interdisciplinary departments, including mechanical, software design, systems engineering, and manufacturing.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, understandable by a diverse audience.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, outstanding analytical abilities, developing leadership skills, and the ability to work in a team.
  • Flexibility to work remotely on short-term customer site assignments.
