Position Overview:

As a Field Service Technician I, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of our Cargo Inspection Systems. This entry-level position requires a collaborative mindset and a willingness to assist colleagues while actively engaging in knowledge sharing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in comprehensive product training and achieve certification for all equipment serviced.
  • Address service repair and preventative maintenance needs to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Respond promptly to customer requests in alignment with contractual obligations.
  • Perform installations, repairs, and maintenance on various equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Provide training to customers as necessary.
  • Document all maintenance and repair activities, ensuring timely submission of paperwork.
  • Manage parts ordering, installation, and returns efficiently.
  • Prepare detailed reports on service activities.
  • Maintain and calibrate tools and testing equipment to ensure accuracy.
  • Analyze performance metrics based on field support data.
  • Submit all expense reports punctually.
  • Offer technical support to customers and fellow service professionals as needed.
  • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
  • Implement cost-control measures in all service activities.
  • Be prepared for travel, overtime, and non-standard work hours as required.

  • Adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Comply with all relevant export control and security regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: Associate's Degree or relevant trade certification in electrical, electronic, or mechanical fields, or equivalent military training. Comparable work experience of over three years in a related field service role is acceptable.

Experience: A minimum of three years of hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and electronic systems.

Skills: Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service and teamwork. Must be responsive to customer needs and willing to travel on short notice.

Language Proficiency: Bilingual communication in French and English is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to push or pull up to 200 lbs.
  • Ability to maneuver equipment weighing up to 1000 lbs. with assistance.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and working in various positions are required.
  • Must be able to work at heights and climb ladders safely.
  • Adhere to safety protocols in challenging environments.

Work Environment: The role typically involves off-site service at various customer locations, including ports, airports, and other facilities, often requiring outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
