Role Summary:

In the role of Pricing and Promotions Planner, you will be instrumental in crafting our promotional strategies to meet financial objectives. Your analytical expertise and strategic approach will guide our promotional planning initiatives and enable the execution of effective campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promotional Planning Leadership: Design and implement the promotional planning strategy for Giant Tiger.
  • Campaign Management: Oversee the creation and execution of weekly and multi-week promotional initiatives.
  • Strategic Recommendations: Collaborate with various departments to provide insights on pricing and promotional tactics.
  • Financial Analysis: Maintain and oversee financial reports related to pricing and promotions, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Project Oversight: Lead pricing and promotional projects or strategic initiatives aimed at fostering business growth.

Required Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Marketing, or related field.
  • Promotional Analytics Experience: Background in customer promotional analytics, including development of structures, predictive modeling, and performance measurement.
  • Data Proficiency: Skilled in utilizing data and advanced analytical techniques (data mining, modeling, statistics).
  • Forecasting Expertise: Proficient in promotional forecasting and linking outcomes to key performance indicators.
  • Marketing Technology Familiarity: Experience with marketing technology tools (CRMs, campaign management systems, email marketing) and loyalty programs.
  • Customer Experience Knowledge: Understanding of real-time interaction management and automated marketing technologies.
  • Testing Skills: Proficient in A/B and multi-variate testing and data interpretation.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, capable of conveying analytical insights and business opportunities to varied audiences.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with SQL, Google Analytics, and business intelligence tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in the retail or grocery sectors.
  • Language Proficiency: Bilingualism in English and French is advantageous.
