About the Role:

We are seeking a Learning Strategies Specialist to join our Student Services department. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable, supportive, and dedicated to promoting inclusive education within our school community.

Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate a collaborative teaching environment that fosters student success.
  • Oversee the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Essential Learning Plans (ELPs).
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and students to ensure individualized support.
  • Manage the allocated budget for special needs students, ensuring resources are utilized effectively.
  • Provide support and guidance to after-school program staff in meeting the diverse learning needs of students.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid BC Ministry of Education Certificate.
  • Proven experience working with IEPs and conducting psycho-educational assessments.
  • Deep understanding of girls' learning styles and developmental needs.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth within the field of education.
  • Active engagement in the school community and a passion for supporting student well-being.
