Learning Strategies Coordinator

Crofton House School is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Strategies Coordinator to join our Student Services department. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with learning needs and coordinating the work of our Learning Strategists.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate the Learning Resource Program to promote a collegial teaching and learning environment
- Oversee the IEP process, engaging teachers and parents, and ensuring accurate documentation
- Assign case managers as needed and oversee the Essential Learning Plan process for students
- Collaborate with Personal Counsellors regarding students with H and R designations and other students as needed
- Facilitate meetings between students, parents, and Senior School teachers
- Support teachers in understanding and supporting students with learning needs in their classes
- Manage the Ministry-provided budget for special needs students
- Support constructive engagement of parents in the curricular program
- Oversee staffing for the after-school support program to ensure daily coverage
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a Special Education focus and qualifications to teach at an intermediate and senior level
- B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or qualification criteria
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher at a senior school level, an asset
- Understanding of BC Ministry of Education Special Education policies and procedures
- Experience reading and interpreting psycho-educational assessments
- Experience creating and implementing IEPs
- Demonstrable awareness of the learning styles of girls and young women
- Collaborative and energetic with a passion for teaching
- Committed to the craft of teaching, best practices, and standards of professional practice
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, negotiation, and mediation skills
- Commitment to continued professional development and growth
