Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Investment Market Lead to join our Private Banking team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading a team of investment professionals and driving business growth in Eastern Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Lead a team of investment professionals to achieve business goals and objectives
    • Develop and implement strategies to drive business growth and improve team performance
    • Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Business Development and Sales
    • Develop and execute business plans to drive revenue growth and expand market share
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, negotiation, and sales skills
    • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders to drive business growth
  • Risk Management and Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and bank policies
    • Manage risk and ensure that business activities are aligned with Scotiabank's risk appetite
    • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risk and ensure business continuity
  • Client Relationship Management
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients to drive business growth and improve client satisfaction
    • Provide exceptional client service and support to ensure client needs are met
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through client referrals and networking
  • Performance Management and Development
    • Develop and implement performance management processes to drive team performance and improve business results
    • Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge
    • Identify and support training and development needs of team members
Requirements
  • Education
    • University degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, or Finance
  • Experience
    • Minimum 5 years of direct experience in discretionary investment management, covering both financial analysis and managing portfolios
    • Expert understanding of investment returns, potential risks, and associated tax implications
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Strong leadership and team management skills

    • Strong risk management and compliance skills
    • Excellent client relationship management skills
