Purchasing Agent Co-op: Procurement Expert

Job Summary

Multiplex is seeking a skilled Purchasing Agent Co-op to join our team and contribute to the success of our construction projects. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for connecting our site teams with trusted suppliers to provide necessary materials, equipment, and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and process requisitions from multiple sites, creating purchase orders and coordinating with suppliers.
  • Assist buyers with product and supplier inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Perform three-point matching with requisitions, purchase orders, and packing slips, coordinating with the accounts payable team to process invoices.
  • Assist with inputting rental tracker data for tools and equipment rented on site.
  • Contribute to inventory management at head office and sites.
  • Research and obtain budgetary pricing from vendors, working closely with the procurement manager.
  • Document and escalate supplier performance issues to the procurement manager.
  • Enter unit rate data for Division 1 items under various cost codes.
  • Support the processing of orders and other procurement-related tasks.

Requirements

  • Equivalent of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Purchasing, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 2 years of direct work experience in purchasing or procurement, with a focus on construction consumables and rentals.
  • On-site construction management experience is highly desirable.
