We are currently looking for a Procurement Agent Intern to support our operations.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Procurement Agent serves as a vital link between our project teams and Multiplex's reliable suppliers, ensuring the timely provision of materials, equipment, services, and products essential for project execution. This role involves collaborating with site teams to assess project requirements, ensuring that orders are delivered on a Just-in-Time basis. Success in this position hinges on effective and prompt communication with both site teams and supplier partners, as well as managing inbound and outbound shipments. Cross-departmental collaboration with safety, legal, marketing, communications, and finance teams will be crucial. This position operates under the supervision of the Procurement Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process requisitions from various sites and generate purchase orders while coordinating with the appropriate suppliers.
- Provide assistance to Buyers regarding product inquiries or supplier selection.
- Conduct a three-way match between Requisition, Purchase Order, and Packing Slip; liaise with the Accounts Payable team to facilitate invoice processing.
- Support the rental tracker for all tools and equipment utilized on-site.
- Assist in monitoring and managing inventory at both the head office and project sites.
- Contact vendors to obtain budgetary pricing based on the specifications provided by the Procurement Manager.
- Document and escalate any supplier performance issues to the Procurement Manager.
- Aid in the entry of unit rate data for various Division 1 items across different cost codes.
- Provide general support in processing orders.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Purchasing, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of direct experience in a purchasing or procurement role, particularly focused on construction materials and rentals.
- On-site construction management experience is highly desirable.
