The Advanced Practice Nurse is a proficient healthcare provider dedicated to delivering specialized care to patients in palliative environments. This position necessitates a deep understanding and substantial experience in palliative care, pain alleviation, and support during end-of-life transitions.
Essential Qualifications
- Valid registration in the Extended Class (NP-Adult) with the College of Nurses of Ontario is mandatory.
- A Master's Degree in Nursing is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in palliative care is essential.
- In-depth knowledge of palliative care and pain & symptom management is crucial.
- Formal education and training in Palliative Care, including completion of the LEAP Course, are required.
- Experience in palliative and end-of-life care, managing pain and symptoms, and supporting individuals with complex medical needs is advantageous.
- Eligibility for cross-appointment to an academic institution is preferred.
- Membership in relevant specialty organizations such as NPAO and RNAO is beneficial.
- Demonstrated innovation, creativity, and professionalism are essential.
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Capability to work independently is necessary.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio is required.
- Ability to fulfill the physical demands of the role is essential.
- A satisfactory record of employment and attendance is required.
