Payroll Data Specialist

We are a dynamic and respected investment firm, committed to helping clients achieve their financial goals. As a Payroll Coordinator, you will be part of our award-winning Payroll and Benefits team in our Vancouver office.
Key Responsibilities:- Process and maintain payroll for all salaried and commission-based employees accurately and on-time.
- Calculate and reconcile month-end commissions using Excel.
- Prepare journal entries and reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts to ensure accurate reporting.
- Review and audit monthly payroll reports and participate in annual payroll audits.
- Participate in department-initiated continuous improvement projects.
- Prepare and remit payroll-related reports, leveraging payroll data to prepare internal management reports and Statistics Canada reports.
- Maintain payroll documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and employee records.
- Manage incoming payroll queries and serve as subject-matter expert (SME).
- Ensure payroll processes and policies are in compliance with applicable British Columbia Employment Standards Act (BC ESA) and Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regulations.
- Coordinate with People and Culture, Benefits, and Finance on payroll information, audits, and reconciliations.
- Minimum two (2) years' of progressive payroll experience.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification.
- Experience in a complex commission-based environment or at an investment firm is preferred.
- Dayforce HRIS experience is a valuable asset.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 with advanced Excel skills.
