Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and maintain payroll for all salaried and commission-based employees accurately and on-time.
  • Calculate and reconcile month-end commissions using Excel.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Review and audit monthly payroll reports and participate in annual payroll audits.
  • Participate in department-initiated continuous improvement projects.
  • Prepare and remit payroll-related reports, leveraging payroll data to prepare internal management reports and Statistics Canada reports.
  • Maintain payroll documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and employee records.
  • Manage incoming payroll queries and serve as subject-matter expert (SME).
  • Ensure payroll processes and policies are in compliance with applicable British Columbia Employment Standards Act (BC ESA) and Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regulations.
  • Coordinate with People and Culture, Benefits, and Finance on payroll information, audits, and reconciliations.
Requirements:
  • Minimum two (2) years' of progressive payroll experience.
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification.
  • Experience in a complex commission-based environment or at an investment firm is preferred.
  • Dayforce HRIS experience is a valuable asset.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 with advanced Excel skills.
