Position Overview
The Shipper/Receiver is crucial for ensuring the seamless movement of industrial products within the warehouse. This role is responsible for the accurate shipping and receiving of goods, verifying orders, and maintaining inventory levels. The individual will also support warehouse operations by organizing stock, maintaining cleanliness, and operating forklifts to facilitate the movement of materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments, confirming contents against relevant documentation and entering data into the inventory management system.
- Prepare outgoing shipments according to packing slips, selecting and packaging items based on customer and branch specifications.
- Ensure compliance with shipping protocols and customer requirements during the dispatch of goods.
- Manage Bills of Lading and coordinate with carriers to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Organize and stock shelves with incoming shipments, utilizing appropriate sorting systems and equipment, including forklifts.
- Maintain accurate records of packing slips and generate necessary service and production documentation.
- Complete daily logs for forklift operations.
- Uphold a clean and organized warehouse environment at all times.
- Perform additional tasks such as local pickups and deliveries as needed.
- Operate forklifts and other equipment safely within the work area.
Candidate Profile
- Education: High School diploma; valid Forklift certification; valid driver's license with insurability.
- Experience: 1-2 years in a similar logistics or warehouse role.
- Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
