About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Distribution Planning Engineer to join our team at BC Hydro. As a key member of our planning team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed plans for the distribution of electricity across our network, taking into account factors such as load growth, infrastructure upgrades, and environmental considerations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize capital projects, ensuring that they align with our business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct technical analyses and modeling to inform planning decisions, including the evaluation of alternative scenarios and the identification of potential risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including customers, regulators, and industry partners, to ensure that our planning activities are aligned with their needs and expectations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical distribution planning, with a strong understanding of transmission and distribution systems.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association.
