About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Educator to join our Interprofessional Practice and Learning team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing, implementing, and evaluating clinical knowledge to support the translation of knowledge to practice.

The successful candidate will demonstrate competency in practice, program design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation of education, leadership and professional practice. They will also exhibit the knowledge, attitudes and behaviors that align with the Interprofessional Practice and Learning Framework that supports collaborative person-centered care within Nova Scotia Health.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing orientation and ongoing education programs that integrate a learner-centered approach
  • Providing advice, consultation, and support to advance practice and maintain and develop evidence-based standards of care
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to assess, implement, and evaluate clinical knowledge
  • Leading and participating in quality improvement initiatives to optimize patient outcomes within the interprofessional care team

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, a Master of Nursing or Health Care/Education degree preferred, and a minimum of three years full-time clinical experience within the last five years in Simulation-Based Learning. They will also have relevant CNA or other specialty certification, BLS-C (HCP) certification, and a strong understanding of adult education principles.
