Job Title: Medical Office Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our team at Iroquois Falls Family Health Team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to our healthcare team, ensuring the smooth operation of our office. This includes greeting patients, answering phone calls, and performing various clerical duties.

Responsibilities:
  • Front Desk Duties: Greet patients, direct them to contacts or service areas, and provide basic information to clients and the public.
  • Administrative Support: Operate switchboard or telephone system, order office supplies, record and relay information, schedule and confirm appointments, and perform clerical duties such as filing and sorting and distributing mail.
  • Customer Service: Answer telephone and relay telephone calls and messages, arrange teleconferences, and provide customer service.
  • Computer and Technology: Familiarity with electronic medical records, MS Office, electronic mail, MS Outlook, and MS Word.
  • Security and Safety: Ability to work independently, work under pressure, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, organized, reliable, team player, ability to multitask, and time management.
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience an asset.
  • Health care plan and pension plan available.
  • 37.5 hours per week.
  • Bilingual (English and French).
