Position Overview:

The Aquatics Program Supervisor plays a vital role in the management and execution of all aquatic-related activities at CIS Ontario. This position is responsible for overseeing lifeguarding duties, instructing participants, organizing the aquatic schedule, ensuring compliance with pool standards and regulations, and supervising aquatic extracurricular activities. Additionally, this role contributes to the ongoing enhancement and coordination of weekend swim initiatives and summer camp programs.

The Aquatics Program Supervisor's schedule aligns with the academic calendar during the school year and transitions to support summer camp operations. Working hours may vary to accommodate early morning practices and after-school programs. The position typically follows a Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday schedule, subject to change based on program requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the aquatics team to facilitate weekday pool hours, weekend swim programs, and co-curricular swim sessions for students, staff, and alumni; Assist in the delivery of swim-specific camps and oversee recreational swim sessions for all camps, in alignment with the needs of the Summer Camp Director; Work in partnership with the Health and Physical Education teams across Junior, Middle, and Senior Schools to implement the curricular swim program for students from JK to Grade 10; Facilitate grassroots swim groups, including swim clubs and lifesaving clubs; Support registration processes for auxiliary swim programs, including weekend lessons, lane and leisure swims, and lifesaving leadership courses; Maintain up-to-date pool records and ensure the upkeep of the pool, equipment, materials, and changing facilities; Manage swim registration documentation, including payments and medical forms; Assist with communication to program participants; Facilitate first aid certification training for staff and students.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Relevant post-secondary education or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity; Up-to-date certifications required include: National Lifeguard, Standard First Aid (AED & CPR-C), AED Responder, Lifesaving Society Swim and Lifesaving, and Lifesaving Society Examiner. Additional advanced leadership certifications from the Lifesaving Society are advantageous; Proven experience working with children and adolescents; Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with children, parents, and adults; Experience in developing and coordinating aquatics programs; Familiarity with registration software (e.g., CampBrain, Pike13, iClassPro); Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills; Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
