Job Title: Donor Relations and Stewardship Coordinator

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Donor Relations and Stewardship Coordinator to join our team at the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka. As a key member of our development team, you will play a critical role in enhancing our donor relationships, fostering strong connections, and driving fundraising initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full donor relationship cycle, from prospect identification to cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, by analyzing donor needs and utilizing tools like iWave to assess prospects and create personalized solicitation plans.
  • Implement and evaluate customized strategies for managing relationships with donors, volunteers, and partners, ensuring effective stewardship, communication, and adjustments based on donor preferences, while adhering to fundraising ethics and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Develop campaign key messages and gather information for cultivation and stewardship reporting, including program statistics and participant/donor stories.
  • Support delivering an integrated communication plan, creating, sending, and monitoring engaging communications.
  • Support the development and implementation of campaign communications, both digital and print, for fundraising.
  • Develop and implement unique communications related to signature events and capital campaigns.
  • Provide support for various fundraising and promotional events, including planning, logistics, and on-the-day support (e.g., Move to Give, Gala, Comprehensive Campaigns, and other events).
  • Research major gift programs and stewardship activities in the sector.

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field
  • Minimum 2-years of previous experience working in a nonprofit or charitable fundraising capacity
  • Knowledge of Raiser's Edge NXT, an asset
  • Proven ability to multi-task and effectively manage time while adapting to shifting and emerging priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills, including confidence with cold calling/visiting and a polite and professional communication manner.
  • Ability to speak persuasively to demonstrate the charity's impact and value, own professional network a bonus.
  • Outstanding communication skills with a proven ability to craft personalized and unique forms of communication that effectively enhance and strengthen donor relationships with the organization.
  • Technological skills include client database maintenance (experience with Raiser's Edge CRM or MailChimp), databases, and AI tools, and I am comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in data entry and donor records management
  • Resourceful and independent but comfortable working with the framework of an integrated development program and team-oriented environment
  • Willingness to participate in mandated training to be completed before or shortly after commencement of work including:
    • AODA Training
    • Health & Safety Awareness Training
    • Bill 168 (Violence & Harassment in the Workplace) Training
    • PCI Compliance
    • WHMIS
    • Child Safeguarding Training
