Job Title: Chef

About the Role:

The Dexterra Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to oversee the day-to-day operation of our remote camp kitchen. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for planning and executing menus, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our clients and staff
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure they are following Horizon North Food Safety protocols and company policies
  • Conduct inventory and manage kitchen resources to ensure efficient use of labor and materials
  • Ensure all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards of quality and presentation
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve kitchen operations

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Chef in a remote camp or similar environment
  • Valid Advanced Food Safety certificate
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing kitchen teams
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
