Position Overview:

A casual opportunity for a cross-site MDRD Reprocessing Technician is available within the Nursing Department. This role encompasses responsibilities at various healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of sterile processing, infection control, and decontamination protocols.
  • Complete the Central Service Techniques Course successfully.
  • Obtain CSA Certification or demonstrate willingness to pursue it.
  • Gain experience across all facets of MDRD, including decontamination, sterile processing, portering, dispatch, and record management.
  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to adhering to established procedures and protocols.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Meet performance and attendance standards.
  • Pass satisfactory reference checks prior to commencing employment.
  • Provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment, including proof of full COVID vaccination.

Working Conditions:

  • Extended periods of standing.
  • Physical activities including moving, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
  • Frequent walking.

Work Schedule:

  • Hours will be determined based on operational needs.
  • Work hours will align with the Collective Agreement.

Compensation: Salary range is competitive and commensurate with experience.
