About the Role

The Clinical Pharmacist plays a vital role in the healthcare team, collaborating with various professionals to provide comprehensive and patient-focused pharmaceutical care. This position is accountable for the procurement, dispensing, and safe utilization of medications, as well as the promotion of health and wellness through disease prevention strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the procurement and dispensing of medications, ensuring their safe and effective use.
  • Provide expert advice on medication management and promote cost-effective pharmaceutical practices.
  • Engage in practice-based research initiatives to enhance the knowledge base of drug information.
  • Support evidence-based practices through thorough drug use evaluations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
  • Eligibility for licensure with the relevant pharmacy regulatory body.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Two years of recent relevant experience is preferred.
  • Completion of a hospital residency program is advantageous.
  • Membership in professional pharmacy organizations is a plus.
  • Proficiency in computer applications related to pharmacy practice.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacokinetics and its application in patient care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and improvement.

Work Schedule

This position is a long-term assignment with a part-time commitment of 50% FTE, totaling approximately 37.5 hours bi-weekly.
