Key Responsibilities- Operate and Maintain Vehicles: Safely operate and maintain our fleet of straight or articulated trucks, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
- Plan Routes and Schedules: Plan and adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment and GPS technology to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
- Manage Cargo and Logistics: Oversee the condition of vehicles, inspect tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment, and perform preventive maintenance to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate with Customers and Colleagues: Address customer complaints, coach colleagues on new methods and work techniques, and provide excellent customer service.
- Meet Safety and Regulatory Requirements: Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, including hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: Experience as a truck driver or in a related field is an asset.
- Licenses and Certifications: AZ class license, Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, and Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
This is an on-the-road job that requires frequent travel and overnight stays. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, and you must be able to adapt to changing conditions and priorities.
