Patient Registration and Scheduling Coordinator

The Registration/Scheduling Clerk plays a crucial role in the Rehabilitation Services department, ensuring efficient patient registration and appointment scheduling. This position involves assisting clients and staff, while maintaining a high standard of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate timely patient registration and processing.
- Assist in scheduling provider appointments using the Meditech system, ensuring families are informed of their appointment times.
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary appointments as needed.
- Register patients for rehabilitation services and complete necessary health forms.
- Manage communication through phone, fax, and email, relaying messages accurately.
- Maintain adequate supplies and manage orders as required.
- Handle patient charts, ensuring proper collection and return to Health Records.
- Provide general support to clients and staff, greeting and directing patients and families.
- Ensure the waiting area is presentable and welcoming.
- Participate in care team discussions, contributing to clinic efficiency improvements.
This position requires availability Monday through Friday, with specific days and hours to be determined.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Completion of a recognized Office Administration Diploma Program is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with various computer programs is required.
- Data entry skills are essential.
- Knowledge of Meditech and Community Wide Scheduling (CWS) is preferred.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills are necessary.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required for effective teamwork.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is essential.
- Commitment to Family Centered Care is expected.
- Experience in a healthcare registration and scheduling environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is an asset.
