Position Summary

Under the guidance of the Director of Human Resources, the Compensation and Benefits Administrator will primarily oversee the management of payroll processes for both Canadian and US employees. This role also entails maintaining employee records within the Canadian HRIS and Benefits administration systems. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the Finance department to ensure accurate payroll data submission and necessary updates.

This position is based in our Abbotsford location and requires full onsite presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit semi-monthly payroll for the Canadian entity.
  • Collaborate with the US HR team to facilitate US payroll processing.
  • Work in partnership with supervisors to ensure timely review and approval of timecards before payroll deadlines.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee records in HRIS and Benefits Systems, including new hires, benefit selections, changes, terminations, attendance, time-off, and other relevant areas.
  • Ensure data integrity in the Company HRIS through regular audits.
  • Manage employee data modifications in the Canadian benefits administration platform and liaise with benefits partners during open enrollment and plan adjustments.
  • Coordinate and oversee open enrollment periods, ensuring meticulous record-keeping.
  • Prepare and distribute year-end documents such as T4 and W2 forms, along with other necessary employment-related tax documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with local and federal payroll regulations.
  • Review payroll reports and implement necessary corrections.
  • Generate reports from HRIS for various HR and management monthly analyses.
  • Process Payroll Change Notification forms for employee information updates.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Work Environment

  • Office and production facility setting.
  • Steel-toed footwear and other personal protective equipment are required when on the production or warehouse floor.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Canadian payroll.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in US payroll; Florida payroll experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Certification as a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP), Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP), or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience with ADP WorkforceNow for payroll is desirable; familiarity with ADP products or similar payroll services is required.
  • Possession of an accounting diploma.
  • Experience in payroll processing for a manufacturing organization is preferred.
  • Experience serving as the primary contact for employee inquiries.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive employment information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must possess legal authorization to work in Canada.
