The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced First Cook to join our dynamic Kitchen Team at Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing exceptional dishes in our dining outlets, while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols in food production
  • Prepare high-quality dishes in accordance with Executive Chef and Sous-Chefs' standards
  • Provide guidance and direction to Second Cooks and Pantry Cooks
  • Coordinate menu planning, functions, and guest expectations for assigned work stations
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including fridges and freezers
  • Organize kitchen operations in the absence of the Chef de Partie or Demi Chef de Partie

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a busy restaurant environment
  • Experience in pastry, fine dining, buffet, and large volume cooking
  • Red Seal or Journeyman Cook's Certificate or international equivalent
