Collingwood General & Marine Hospital (CGMH) is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Emergency Department team. As a Physician Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our team of healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
About the RoleThe Physician Assistant will be responsible for assessing and managing medium to high acuity patients, including those who may require admission, as well as low-acuity patients in our See and Treat area. You will work closely with our supervising physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and manage patients in the Emergency Department, including those who may require admission
- Work collaboratively with supervising physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients, including ordering diagnostic tests and medications as needed
- Provide education to patients and families on their care and treatment
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related field
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant
- Experience working in an Emergency Department or similar setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
